COURSE DESCRIPTION
Guided Implantology is a computer guided dental implant surgery wherein, a patient’s CT or CBCT is used to plan the position of the implants. As compared to traditional dental implants surgery, guided implant surgery gives a predictable result. In order to perform guided implant surgery, the dentist needs implant planning software, guided implant surgery kit, custom surgical templates, and cone-beam CT.
Guided Implantology is typically done in 4 steps. The first step is a clinical and radiographic examination on CT. Next is planning on the software of choice (BlueSkyBio/DTX Studio). The third step is the fabrication of the implant guide. The final step is the placement of implants using the previously fabricated surgical guide.
During the course you’ll:
- become familiar with multiple softwares used in different situations for implant planning
